Information about Mohammed Awais
Having achieved a first-class degree in Mathematics, I am currently a Head of Maths and have been teaching for over a decade. I have delivered outcomes in the top 1% nationally. I ensure my pupils are mathematically fluent, able to reason and justify their approaches and solve problems in familiar and unfamiliar content in readiness for GCSE Maths.
Teaching is adapted to maintain a rapid pace of knowledge. I model examples step by step and refer to success criteria. I ensure guided practice, i.e. I do, we do, and you do, so pupils have mastered key concepts. I engage pupils through questioning, regularly checking for understanding, and addressing misconceptions. In addition, I offer bespoke feedback and fix the gaps quickly to enable pupils to improve their work.
