I’m Dr Neri, a professional and specialist mathematics tutor with over 8 years of experience helping students succeed in mathematics. I have a proven track record of delivering results for those who are struggling with the subject, and my strong work ethic is reflected in my written testimonials.


My formal academic qualifications include:

> PhD in Applied Mathematics,

> Integrated Master`s degree in Mathematics (1st class),

> A-Levels in Maths / Further Maths / Business Studies, and

> 9 GCSEs (A*-C).


I primarily teach mathematics at GCSE / IGCSE / A-Level / IB / SQA / Admissions Test / Undergraduate levels, but I also welcome and encourage requests in other contexts.


I fully understand and relate to students who are struggling in mathematics. It is a subject which can be very computational / counter-intuitive __ but also extremely rewarding. As a GCSE student, I was behind in a class that wasn’t among the top sets in ability, and at one point my grades were below a pass. However, with focused effort and smart strategies, I managed to turn it around within a year and get grade A, and have become passionate with the subject ever since. At A-Level, I often felt behind my peers, and it took great effort for me to catch up and get my A* in Maths and B in Further Maths.


Since starting my MMath degree at Loughborough University in 2016, I have deeply committed to helping students improve in a similar way to me, and I now tutor full-time using effective strategies.

Experience: I have a PhD in Applied Mathematics at Loughborough University involving two journal publications with novel research in the field of nonlinear waves. My doctoral thesis involved development of partial differential equations modelling complex moderate-to-large amplitude waves in cylindrical geometry for surface and internal wave regimes.

Before this, I obtained a 1st class MMath degree at Loughborough University.

Throughout my 8 years of University studies, I have taught students part-time at levels of GCSE / A-Level / IB levels (UK and International spec). In the 4 years of my PhD, I have taught a lot of Undergraduate mathematics material in Applied Mathematics by delivering seminars for certain modules every semester. Overall, I have over 5000 hours of teaching including mostly one-to-one online lessons, but also small group tutorials within schools, teaching Undergraduate seminars, and as part of a local team in Sheffield.
