Information about Susan
I am a fully qualified tutor, educated to degree level, with many years experience. I am well acquainted with the requirements for the SATs, ISEB, also for 5+ through to 13+ independent schools and grammar entrance and GCSE English.
Trial lesson £10. My hourly fee is £30.
Availability: I tutor throughout the week, weekends and school holidays.
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: I cover all aspects of Key stage 1, Key stage 2 and lower Key Stage 3. I am highly experiences in exam entrance to top independent schools for example; St Pauls, Eton College, Kings College Wimbledon, Westminster, Latymer etc., and Grammar Schools. This includes entrance at scholarship level. After my many years experience in the classroom I am also well equipped to deal with special needs. I have gained a great deal of personal satisfaction from helping a range of children who are struggling with core reading, writing and maths skills catch-up. I am a firm believer in developing children`s confidence and self-esteem - `nothing succeeds like success`. I am also experienced in motivating and challenging the more able pupils. Above all, I believe that education should be a personalised experience. Every student learns in a different way. In order for pupils to reach their full potential, my lessons are tailored to their own specific needs and interests. In conclusion, learning should be fun and I gain a great deal of pleasure from motivating children to succeed. I teach from home but I’m happy to consider travelling up to 15 miles. For the latter, I do charge travel expenses.

Perfect location to be able to hold the lessons at Susan’s house or at your own home. We found having a lesson in the local library a little to noisy and distracting.
Susan is very friendly and approaches the children in a lovely manner and she soon realised the areas that are needing extra help. We would recommend

My daughters confidence in maths has grown since starting lessons with Susan and her school teacher has been very impressed with her new attitude to the subject. She has enjoyed her lessons which Susan keeps fun and has even begun to enjoy maths!
