Information about Rebekah
I started my journey in childcare when I was 18. I completed my NVQ and went onto university. Since then I have had my own class and worked as a supply teacher. In this time I have come to work with a very holistic approach to education. I believe that the key to children`s success in learning is through finding ways to help them enjoy it and see the fun and creative side in all subjects.
I`ve worked closely with many autistic children and have had success in creating a calm and safe learning environment to support their needs and help them reach their SMART targets.
I love teaching and I am passionate about helping children succeed. I believe if children are given the right tools they can raise their attainment and enjoy doing it.
Availability: Prefer to work evenings, weekends and holidays but I will have availability in the week as well.

Experience: I worked in a nursery and preschool for 5 years, I also did my undergraduate degree in this time. After finishing my degree I went on to do my PGCE. My specialism is mathematics. I have also had the opportunity to study and work in a steiner school. This was an interesting journey and has given me many tools to support children`s education and development through using different artistic techniques to engage the children.
I have worked for a year as a supply teacher and had my own class for a year and a half.
In this time I have worked closely with many children with SEN, working alongside the SENCo to ensure all of the children in my care are being given the help and support they deserve.
I love working one to one with children working on new ways to engage them with their learning and support their journey to achieving their targets.

Prior to the latest national lockdown, Rebecca`s has been tutoring our 6 year who has had difficulties finding enjoyment in learning and this was a major concern for us as if he didn`t enjoy learning he is unlikely to want to do it and push his self to achieve his full potential now and into the future (Add to this the amount of school missed due to the pandemic) we felt we needed to act. We came across Rebecca`s profile on tutor hunt and decided she seemed like a great fit, it was important to us that sessions were face to face and we havent had any regrets what so ever. Our 6 year old absolutely loves Rebecca and gets just as excited for his sessions with her as he does with Football, Swimming and all the things he loved more than learning. Over the short period Rebecca has been tutoring our 6 year old we have noticed a huge difference in his confidence and wanting to do learning activities, at this point it is hard for me to comment on whether Rocco has progressed in the subject covered by Rebecca (phonics, reading, english) as the sessions have been cut short but once the lockdown has ended we will be continuing with Rebecca for the foreseeable future. Our main aim was for our 6 year to love and be a proactive learner, that has 100% been achieved. We cannot reccomend Rebecca highly enough, we noticed week on week how she was adapting her teaching style to meet our little ones needs and we are really looking forward to seeing that progress again in the future - 5 stars are not enough.
