Information about Khadijah

After graduating from Oxford University, I worked for six and half years as a Senior Analyst in healthcare regulation and then I worked for two years as head of fundraising for a medium sized charity in London.

I am patient and I listen. I take time to explain topics clearly and I summarise lessons at the end to reinforce and help retain understanding. I use fun and engaging ways to teach online and I make the lesson interactive. I continually ask questions to allow children to find answers themselves.

I will build a rapport with students and tailor lessons to individual need. I pace lessons according to each student, taking more time if needed to enable learning or moving on quickly to new topics if the student is a fast learner. I aim to make lessons fun, and build confidence in my students so they not only learn the subject, but also feel empowered to learn and believe in themselves. This enables them to become more confident learners in any subject.

I have also taught my children and their friends how to solve a Rubiks cube! As well as being an impressive skill to have, it is really confidence building, which can give students a new found belief in themselves that they can apply to anything. This is also something I can teach online.

Willing to travel: Home Only

Experience: I have a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University and a Masters in Culture and Mental Health from UCL. I have 3 A grades in A Levels in English Language and Literature, Politics and Economics and I have 6 A* grades, 1 A grade and 2 B grades at GCSE.

I have started tutoring online following a number of years of teaching experience. I have been teaching children and adults as a Cycling Instructor in London for four years. I have taught individuals and small groups. I have previously also taught Arabic in small groups for over a year. As a parent to two primary aged children and one secondary aged child. I tutored my children during lockdown and really enjoyed teaching. I taught them all primary subjects including English, Maths, History, Geography and Science. Recently I have started tutoring online through word of mouth.

My passion for teaching comes from a desire to impart knowledge in easy to understand ways, and a desire to unlock children`s potential. I am skilled at helping children improve. I can teach numeracy for key stages 1 and 2 and I can teach literacy, reading comprehension, writing in a variety of styles; and spelling, punctuation and grammar.

I primarily support home schooling children during school hours. I can teach the main curriculum or I can supplement your home schooling journey according to need.
