Information about Saffah

I have just graduated in Psychology with a First. I have been working as a private tutor for the past 4 years.

I completed my GCSEs in 2014, 4 of which were completed early in 2013 including Maths, science and additional science all of which I achieved an A grade. Overall, I achieved 1 A* 9 A`s and 4 B`s, I can provide certificates upon request.

I am a very organised person and develop individual lesson plans for each student. I quickly identify which area they require the most help in and focus my attention on targeting those areas, leading to an overall improvement. I focus on teaching all the key skills required to excel in each subject and cover all the topics within the syllabus. I ensure that I spend as much time as it requires for the student to develop a clear understanding of everything taught as this is the foundation for the next year or level.

Experience: I have worked as a private tutor for the past 6 years teaching primary, Key stage 3, GCSE and A level students. My past students grades at GCSE level have Improved by 2 or 3 grades when compared to their mock assessments. At GCSE and A-level I focus on not only delivering the syllabus but also teaching the exam techniques to ensure they pick up all the available marks in each paper and feel confident for each exam. I adapt my teaching style with each student as each individual learns in a different manner, therefore, I like to make sure each session is used effectively and the goals for that session are met.

I have worked in tuition centres teaching both Maths and English at Primary level.

I have also worked as a teaching assistant in a private school in which I taught one-to-one lessons with the students who had learning difficulties due to which they were at a lower level compared to majority of the class. Such students often felt low and demotivated due to this. I explained the work in a different classroom which resulted in them focusing better and achieving higher grades. I believe every student has potential and will ensure my students perform to the best of their ability. I also had revision sessions with GCSE students in which I went through past paper questions and explained the topics they did not understand leading upto their exams.

5/5 Rating

Saffah provides additional A level Sociology tutoring for my eldest daughter. She is flexible with lesson scheduling, provides regular in-depth feed back and ensures her input meets the requirements of my daughter’s exam board. My daughter’s knowledge and confidence of the subject has vastly improved and she is now, through Saffah’s support, set up to get a good grade in her A level. As a result I have now asked Saffah to provide additional tuition for my younger daughter in a couple of GCSE subjects.
