Hi there,

I am an ex business owner as a dressmaker and tailor and teacher. I have previously worked with children as a private tutor delivering Maths and English Lessons and still do this. I also have been working as a teaching assistant in schools for 2 years prior. However, now I also teach Adults and Young People/Children from my home basic sewing skills to help them gain inspiration and confidence in this field of work or to have these skills for their own pursuit or simply as a hobby.

I teach both face to face and online lessons.

Availability: Monday - Friday Evenings
Saturday- All Day

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: I have been a Teaching Assistant in schools over the years and have also been a successful Tutor to children in Maths and English previously too. I love to impart knowledge, inspire and see someone grow in confidence in a skill set - Its very rewarding.

I am knowledgeable of the four main types of learning which is Kinesthetic, Verbal, Visual and Auditory. I try to support the Tutee in these main areas whilst teaching, since not everyone learns in the same way and I also encourage questions along the way.

I have a beginners sewing course set out for anyone wanting to learn and I am flexible to adjust it slightly to meet individual needs.

I provide a scheme of work for every tutee at the beginning so that they know what to expect of the course and I also give out guide sheets for tutee`s to keep.

N.B. There are 9,1 hour sessions to the beginners course in sewing. We touch on basic sewing principles, seams and button holes to applique lace applications and more...
