Qualified History Teacher for 8 years, currently working at one of the top state schools in the country, MA Distinction in History from King`s College London. AQA A-Level and GCSE Examiner.

I am a huge history geek. I love reading about history, watching historical documentaries and visiting historical sites. I feel very privileged that my job allows me to discuss and debate historical topics every day and that I get to encourage, motivate and stretch young historians for a living. My academic area of interest is the Medieval Period, in particular, King John and the Magna Carta and the Angevin Kings. My teaching areas of expertise include, Medicine Through Time, the Cold War, Germany 1918-1945 and the Tudors.

My approach to tutoring is to be flexible and responsive to your needs. I believe in being organised and that thorough planning and preparation is the key to success in achieving high grades in exams. I have a wide variety of resources, including flash cards, exam question structure guides and model exam answers. I will assess your strengths and weaknesses, discuss with you what your goals for tutoring are and then lay out a program for how we will achieve those goals.

Availability: I am available weekday evenings. From 4-5pm onwards depending on location and day.

I am also available on weekends.

Experience: I have been teaching History for over 8 years. I currently teach at a school in Bishop`s Stortford, at my previous school I was also a Head of House (Pastoral Leader). I have taught all age groups from 11-18. I have experience in AQA and EdExcel GCSE and AQA, OCR and EdExcel A-Level. Last year my GCSE class achieved just under 90% 9-4 with 50% 9-7 including 4 9`s. I am also an AQA A-Level Examiner for Unit 2O Democracy and Nazism: Germany 1918-1945 and GCSE Examiner for Medicine Through Time. This means that I know exactly what exam boards want/expect to see in exam answers. I believe that my qualifications, tutoring and teaching experience give me the skills needed to be an excellent tutor for you.
