Hi,

I am a specialist and experienced Science tutor with extensive qualifications and completed my doctorate research degree, PhD from Barts School of Medicine and Dentistry, University of London in 2013. I have specialized in molecular and cellular biochemistry and also have a masters in Molecular Medicine from UCL, another masters in intellectual property law and a Bsc Hons degree in Biology from Queen Mary, University of London in 2004. Apart from a scientist I am also a part qualified patent attorney however I now tutor full time due to the massive exam results success I have achieved with my students in the past 7 years and the overwhelming demand for lessons and classes.

I have extensive tuition experience of over 10 years with teaching scientific topics/modules as well as perfecting revision and exam techniques with pupils aged 11-18. My lessons aim to thoroughly prepare students for achieving top grades in their examinations by working them through their examination boards specification and ensuring they become extremely familiar with their course whilst tackling weaker areas along the way and thereby preparing them with the knowledge required to ace their exams. A combination of thorough knowledge taught in a very simplified, step-by-step manner along with perfecting exam techniques has provided my students with exam results that is above and beyond what they were predicted by their schools as well as well above the national average (see below for recent exam results).

I am very friendly, easily approachable and extremely competent in my field and enjoy teaching to help others achieve academic excellence by making learning interesting to stimulate productivity and increase understanding. I tutor students at all levels (pre-GCSE, GCSE and A Levels) with biology, chemistry and physics offered upto GCSE level and from there onwards I only offer expert Biology tuition at A level. I also regularly run revision classes during school half-terms and holidays to provide extra support to those as required although spaces are limited and these classes have proven incredibly popular due to their success with exams so please contact for more information/register interest.

I accept students from the following exam boards:

AQA
Edexcel
Edexcel iGCSE
OCR
International Baccalaureate (IB)
Advanced Placement International Diploma (APID)

100% atleast 1 or more science A grade

90% of students got ALL A or A* grades across all three of the sciences (Biology, Chemistry and Physics).

The lowest grade in 2016 for combined science was a A grade in combination with a C grade.

Higher Paper

100% A* -B

The results my students achieve are well above the national average and I take great pride in putting my full effort into ensuring my students achieve their full potential and increasing their confidence in the subject that has often been dampened by poor teaching in schools. All of my students show a massive jump from their grades at the start of lessons with me through their mocks and usually end up acing their science exams. As somebody with numerous higher degrees and an excellent academic record I like to believe I have the expertise and experience required to guide other students to a bright and successful future and nothing gives me more joy than to see the trust and confidence students have in me to see them through their exams and the gratitude upon receiving their top results. I genuinely care for my students and go above and beyond to help them attain their full potential and that is reflected in my feedback and reviews, the majority of which cannot be featured here as they are students via recommendation and excellent word of mouth.

I would highly recommend Saira, she is a wonderful tutor. Personable, reliable and intuitive, she very quickly grasped my son’s needs for his GCSE Biology and Chemistry and started guiding him from the first lesson towards a much better understanding of both subjects. We saw his mock grades improve substantially between his year 10 and year 11 mocks and he is now confident in his knowledge and his path towards his GCSEs in the spring. As a parent I also find Saira great to deal with. She sends me friendly reminders of each lesson and is always prompt in her replies to any queries I have. The most important thing for me though is the connection she immediately established with my son who really enjoys his lessons and is growing in his skills in these topics as a result. Thank you, Saira!

Saira is an amazing tutor who has greatly helped improve my child’s grade. Her lessons are always engaging and she provides her with such a vast range of questions. Her teaching has helped my daughter get an A* in her biology end of year 12 exam. I would recommend her to anyone!
