Information about Stephanie

I am a fully qualified secondary teacher in History with experience both teaching and tutoring in English from Primary to GCSE level. I have worked in education for over seven years, where I have consistently received 100% positive student & parent feedback from my tutees or home-learning pupils and being graded at a `good/outstanding` level in my teaching positions. I hold both a first-class Masters Degree in American Studies (History & English) and an Upper Second Class Bachelors Degree in History with modules in English & American Literature from a Top 20 university. Over my time as a tutor and teacher, I have gained experience working with students across all Key Stages, including primary, and across a range of units and literature texts. The exam boards that I have taught & tutored on are: Edexcel 9-1 GCSE History; AQA 9-1 GCSE English; AQA 9-1 GCSE History; Edexcel 9-1 GCSE English; Edexcel A Level History; OCR A Level History; and I have taught the Cambridge IGCSE in both History & English.

I fully believe that each student is an individual with their own needs and learning styles that need to be incorporated into their learning to ensure that they can effectively progress. As such, my teaching approach is tailored to the individual student - their areas of strengths and weaknesses, and ensuring that each week it evolve with the student`s ability . Each session is interactive, well-planned, and encourages discussion and the exploration of topics or concepts which allows students to grow more confident in their own knowledge, and to expand their thinking beyond just a formula. With all my students, I have a patient, humorous and understanding approach to create a safe environment where students feel they are able to openly express where they need help but also their own ideas and theories about historical debate or literature, thereby developing their self-confidence and exam skills.

Stephanie is an excellent tutor with a great knowledge of the exam curriculum. She naturally engages students in their subject, with interesting views and tapers her session around the exam and what the student needs. Very impressed

Stephanie has been tutoring my daughter for her English GCSE and in September will be continuing this, switching to history A level tuition. She has been an excellent tutor - reliable, patient and extremely enthusiastic.

Every week my daughter has loved going to her lessons and has grown in confidence and resilience.

Stephanie is an excellent tutor and has helped my daughter enormously in the first couple of months we have had. She is very professional but also very friendly and down to earth which makes me daughter really enjoy the lessons with Stephanie. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Stephanie for any tutoring. Thank you!
