After twenty years in the business world working as an operational analyst, I have left my cubicle behind and have pursued education. I really have made a great move for myself as I love tutoring and teaching;; I get to work from my home and I get to do what I really enjoy doing. Working in Analytics, I worked heavily with data and databases. I think I have spent most of my working career in MS Excel and have done innumerable things with it. In my work, I was always searching for answers, and SQL is the key computer language to know when looking for data. SQL is deceptively simple and yet so powerful, and I really enjoy using it. In addition to SQL and Excel knowledge I can also offer you my ESL and Spanish skills.

In my experience as a senior analyst, a key component of the role is to mentor junior analysts. The first step in training a junior analyst is to make a proper assessment of their current knowledge level. Once their prior knowledge is assessed, the knowledge gaps can then be addressed.

My philosophy is that I am more of a guide than a teacher. I think the most effective learning is learning where the student is discovering their own answers and for the most part they just need a guide to point them in the right direct direction when they “go astray.”

I have been teaching ESL in a classroom for two years and have now been working online for the past seven months and have reached the stage where I am completely comfortable with the online teaching dynamic.

Availability: I am available 10am to 9pm everyday except Wednesdays.

Experience: SQL
I have ten plus years hands-on work experience with SQL. I have worked for most of my professional career as an analyst and SQL was the most powerful skill in my toolbox. I can create complex multi-table queries, functions, subqueries, stored procedures and database connections.

EXCEL
I have been using MS Excel for over 20 years. I have mastered complex formulas and functions, data visualization, VBA, data connections and much more!
