I love to help students achieve their best in KS1 , KS2, KS3 and 11+.
I am passionate about Maths and Science and I believe majority students can enjoy and understand these subjects, given the right encouragement and guidance.

For a new student I do an initial assessment of his/her understanding and grasp of any topic. Depending on his/her level I will formulate a study plan to improve students` understanding of concepts they are weak with. I also help students to consolidate their knowledge by giving them different type of questions. This helps them to do better in school and also improve grades.

I understand different students study in different ways. I try to adapt my teaching methods to the student`s needs. I also help the students understand how different concepts are linked together and give a wholesome picture. I also like to include regular revision of topics already covered. This helps them to remember what they have learnt for longer and makes it easier during exams.

I could include interactive activities like quiz cards or memory cards etc to make studying more enjoyable. For older students I like to keep focus on exam-style questions and develop answers based on mark-schemes. I plan my sessions in advance based on the child`s needs. I also like to discuss their strengths and weaknesses so they too are aware of the efforts needed. I also interact and update the parents or guardians of the students` progress.

I believe in giving some homework after lessons on a particular topic to consolidate his/her learning esp for older students. It also helps me to understand about how much the student is confident and where extra efforts are needed. I understand different students learn things in different ways and I would adapt the teaching schedule best suited for the child. My main focus will always be on firm understanding of fundamental concepts and its applications, for all topics. I also help students to work through the past papers wherever relevant and help them with understanding the mark schemes and exam techniques.

I have experience of privately tutoring some local students from primary level to GCSE (Science).

I hold a B.Sc (Hons.) in Physics and a Masters in Computer Science from India (Mumbai and Pune University). I have several years of technology experience in the IT industry.
