Information about Colin

Colin started his career working with the Ian Campbell Folk Group. During that time the Melody Maker described him as "a brilliant young virtuoso." After studying with William Mathias, Colin became chairman of the European Guitar Teachers Association, (EGTA U.K.) and now works as their reviews editor. He has previously won national awards both as a conductor and a composer.

Experience: The Anglesey Guitar Ensemble under his direction were the first guitar ensemble ever to appear on Blue Peter! His music is published by ABRSM, Productions D`OZ, Chanterelle, Bardic Edition, Hofmeister, and Corda music. His orchestral works have been performed by the Welsh Sinfonia and the Welsh Chamber Orchestra. He was until recently head of guitar for Gwasanaeth Ysgolion William Mathias, still teachers for Canolfan Gerdd William Mathias in Caernarfon and travels further afield to adjudicate, lecture and conduct.
Recent trips involved conducting his music in Singapore and adjudicating at their Singapore National Youth Festival. Closer to home he is called on by other music services to lead ensembles in his music. Colin still performs his own arrangements of popular song as well as with a soprano in a duo called Roscolin. He plays violin with the University Orchestra and is becoming an examiner for L.C.M. He runs a composition service. He is fully CRB/DBS checked and carries public liability insurance.
