Hi, I`m Jessy. I am an experienced Secondary Science teacher and tutor with over 10 years of success helping students build confidence, improve their understanding and achieve their target grades.

I am currently accepting students for the 2026–2027 academic year, with additional summer revision and preparation courses available to help students get ahead before the next mock exam season.

Having worked both in schools and as a private tutor, I have extensive knowledge of current GCSE and A-Level specifications, assessment requirements and exam techniques. My experience as an examiner gives students valuable insight into how marks are awarded and what examiners are looking for.

What to Expect

All lessons are delivered online using Zoom and Google Classroom, providing a flexible and effective learning environment.
The process begins with:
1. An initial discussion to identify areas of strength and concern.
2. An introductory 30-minute assessment session to evaluate current attainment and preferred learning style.
3. A personalised programme of lessons designed to address gaps in knowledge, strengthen understanding and develop exam skills.

Regular feedback is provided to both students and parents so that progress can be clearly tracked throughout the tutoring programme.

My Teaching Approach

I believe that successful learning starts with positive relationships and a supportive environment. Every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching methods to suit their individual needs.
Some students benefit from detailed notes and structured explanations, while others learn best through active recall, exam questions, and discussion. My lessons are designed to maximise engagement and ensure students make meaningful progress.
I am patient, encouraging, and committed to helping students realise their potential. Many of my previous tutees have gone from feeling discouraged and lacking confidence, to achieving grades they once thought were beyond their reach.
For students considering careers in Biology, Medicine, or related scientific fields, my Genetics background enables me to extend learning beyond the syllabus and provide deeper subject knowledge where appropriate.

My students consistently meet or exceed their target grades at both GCSE and A-Level. Through focused subject knowledge, exam preparation, and confidence-building strategies, I help students achieve the results they need to move on to the next stage of their education.
