I am a Chemistry graduate with a richly varied background in a variety of careers including nearly 20 years in the Fire Service. I have always been passionate about maths and education and decided to retrain as a teacher in 2011. I have 2 children aged 16 and 20 who achieved grades A and A* in their GCSE and A Level maths respectively.
Availability: Evenings apart from Tuesday and Wednesday. All day Monday, Saturday and Sunday.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: Since retraining as a teacher, I have worked at a mainstream secondary school, teaching all ages from year 7 to 11, and within further education colleges teaching GCSE maths to both 16 to 18 year old learners and adults.
I am also a long-standing school governor at the primary school previously attended by both my children and a GCSE maths examiner for AQA.

Gareth was brilliant with my daughter. She had always struggled with maths and did not have the best teachers but with his help she managed to pass her gcse. We felt at ease with Gareth and i will be using him for my son when the time comes
