Information about Jane
I have a passion for teaching and science and have taught students for many years in the age range 11- 18 and thoroughly enjoy it.
My teaching style is interactive and will be activity based so I can assess the student`s progress and adapt the pace of the lessons to suit them. I begin by finding out a little bit about my student and identifying their goals and objectives.
Availability: 9am - 7pm Mon - Friday

Experience: I have privately tutored many students in Biology and Chemistry GCSE & A - Level for several years always successfully with a bump up in expected grades. I also teach KS3, 4 and 5 in science in the classroom and on an individual basis. I have a PGCE and qualified teacher status. I have been teaching year 7 through to year 13 at a school in Torbay for the past 10 weeks.
I acquired a BSc, MSc with distinction and PhD in Biological Sciences at Exeter University. My PhD was biochemistry and genetics specifically. During my PhD, I supervised undergraduate students in laboratory sessions, supervised projects and conducted lectures in specific topics relating to my research. I presented my research work at international conferences in South Africa, San Diego and the UK.
