English Literature and Language specialist with a BA (Hons) in English Literature with Psychology. I have over 10 years’ experience as a qualified teacher, previously Deputy Head of English and Pastoral Lead, and I also work as an examiner. As a parent myself, I understand how important it is for students to feel supported, confident, and motivated in their learning.

Experience:
I am a qualified teacher and English Literature and Language specialist, holding a BA (Hons) in English Literature with Psychology, with over 10 years’ experience in education. I have held a range of roles including EAL Coordinator, Whole School Literacy Coordinator, Deputy Head of English and Pastoral Lead, and I also work as an examiner.

I have been tutoring for the past six years and enjoy working 1:1 with students to help them reach their full potential. My strongest expertise lies with the AQA exam board, although I have successfully supported students studying across a range of exam boards, as well as learners within the primary sector.

I teach KS3 and KS4 English and also support adult learners preparing for their GCSE resit exams. I create a clear, personalised tutoring plan for each student which is shared with both parents and students so that everyone understands the focus and goals. My differentiated lessons are carefully planned and, over time, build to form a personalised workbook for each student. This allows progress to be clearly monitored and ensures feedback is provided in every lesson. The workbook also gives students full access to the resources we create together, supporting learning both during and outside of our sessions.

I am passionate about reading and love sharing this enthusiasm with my students. I am often asked to work with learners who have lost confidence in English, helping to rebuild both their skills and their enjoyment of learning. I build strong relationships with the families I work with and provide guidance for independent learning beyond our sessions, including marking additional work where further support is helpful. I strongly believe that when students feel supported, believed in and confident, they are able to truly achieve their full potential.
