Hello :)

My name is Sam and I am a secondary school teacher, Pastoral Lead and established tutor.

I have previously been employed as the Deputy Head of English as well as Whole School Literacy Coordinator. In addition to this I have been a regular GCSE examiner for the AQA examination board.

I am passionate about the success of others and enabling students to reach or exceed their full potential.

I pride myself on being an outstanding teacher and tutor, someone that students and parents find to be approachable, reliable, engaging, professional and kind.

Availability: I do not have any further availability this academic year, but will be available throughout the summer holidays, and again in September when my current GCSE students have completed their course.

Experience: I hold a BA hons English Literature with Psychology and passed my QTS qualification in 2016 accredited as an Outstanding teacher where my career has grown from strength to strength.

I have been teaching both English Language and English Literature at GCSE and KS3 level for the past nine years as well as being an AQA GCSE English Literature examiner.

With regards to online tutoring, I have been providing this service since the beginning of the first national lockdown so am extremely familiar with the way in which the system works. Online sessions have been proven to be of the same (if not more) benefit to the students than face to face tutoring.

All students I have tutored have always continued their studies with me for the duration of time required with some students having been tutored by me for two years plus through their KS4 journey. Many of my tutees are friends or family of students I have previously tutored due to the high recommendations that I receive.
