Information about Louise
I am a qualified Classics Teacher with a decade of experience teaching Latin, Greek and Classical Civilisation in leading independent schools in South London. I have a proven track record of equipping students for success in GCSE, A Level and IB exams, with former students going on to study Classics at top universities, including Oxbridge. I was also an examiner for GCSE Latin for several years, equipping me with detailed insight into the skills students need to succeed on this course. I stepped down from my role as Head of Classics in 2024 after deciding to return to university myself.
My approach is student-centred, with bespoke lesson activities carefully tailored to each individual`s needs. All lessons include built-in opportunities for detailed real-time feedback to support my students to grow their confidence. My extensive classroom experience means that I am quickly able to identify and target areas my students find more challenging so that they can maximise their potential. Most importantly, however, I love the ancient world and aim for all my students to come away from their lessons feeling the same way!

I currently have a small number of regular term-time slots remaining (Tuesday and Friday evenings) and plenty of flexible daytime availability during the school holidays for intensive or one-off lessons.

- A bespoke course of study for students taking a Classical subject independently outside school (including GCSE, AS and A Level)
- Intensive revision sessions during the school holidays or study leave to tackle exams with confidence
- One-off sessions to help students master specific topics or skills
- Personal statement support, CAT/CLAT preparation, and Oxbridge interview practice
Availability: I am based in Croydon but able to travel within the South/Central London area for in-person tutoring.
