I am a qualified Classics Teacher with a decade of experience teaching Latin, Greek, and Classical Civilisation in leading independent schools in South London. I have a proven track record of equipping students for success in GCSE, A Level and IB exams. Former students have gone on to study Classics at top universities, including Oxbridge. I also previously acted as an examiner for GCSE Latin, equipping me with detailed insight into the skills students need to achieve their goals on this course. I stepped down from my role as Head of Classics to return to university in 2024.

My extensive classroom experience enables me to design a bespoke curriculum for each student and quickly diagnose and target any areas of difficulty they are experiencing. I can offer regular tutoring sessions for students looking for long-term support or for those looking to study a classical subject independently outside of school. I can also offer intensive or one-off sessions to assist with revision and exam-preparation.

My one-to-one sessions involve tried and tested educational strategies, such as retrieval practice, to empower students to make progress. Lesson activities are carefully adapted to each student`s needs, including built-in opportunities for detailed feedback to help them maximise their potential. Most importantly, however, I love the ancient world and aim for all my students to come away from their lessons feeling the same way!

In addition to targeted support to prepare for exams, I welcome the opportunity to share Latin and Greek with learners of all ages and at all levels. I can also offer support and guidance with personal statements or interview practice for Oxbridge where students are aspiring to study Classical subjects at university.

As of Autumn 2025 my best term time availability is on Tuesday and Friday evenings. During the school holidays I have additional weekday daytime availability for intensive or one-off lessons.
