Hello! My name is Arianna , and I am a Durham University student currently studying a joint honours BA in English Literature and History. I achieved A*s in both English Literature and History at A-Level, giving me an expert understanding of essay writing, source analysis, and exam technique.
As a passionate humanities student, I enjoy helping students build confidence, improve their skills, and achieve top grades. I focus on essay planning, critical thinking, close reading, and effective argument construction, tailoring my approach to each student’s needs. I also provide guidance on revision strategies and UCAS personal statements, supporting students to achieve their academic goals while developing independence and confidence in their learning.

Experience: My experience as Head Girl has helped me develop leadership, organisation, and communication skills, which I apply in tutoring to create structured, engaging, and productive lessons. I have also achieved top academic recognition, including winning the Oxbridge Launchpad essay competition in History, “Can History Be Objective,” with the highest score of 87/100, and completing the Reading Scholars Programme. Additionally, I have been accepted to the prestigious John Locke Institute, a private academic institution. These experiences have strengthened my analytical thinking, essay structuring, and research skills, which I now use to guide students in developing critical arguments, refining their writing, and excelling in humanities subjects. I am committed to helping students reach their full potential while fostering confidence and enjoyment in learning.

A little background about our daughter: she has autism and a speech delay, so finding the right tutor was very important to us. From the very beginning, Ariana has been incredibly kind, patient, and understanding. She has been helping our daughter with Year 7 English, and the progress we have seen has been truly wonderful. Our daughter looks forward to her lessons and feels comfortable and happy learning with Ariana, which means so much to us as parents. Ariana’s teaching style is gentle and very natural. She teaches through conversation, taking the time to repeat and explain things as often as needed, always making sure our daughter really understands. Because of this, we’ve noticed not only improvement in her English but also a real boost in her confidence and communication skills. Seeing our daughter feel more confident and willing to express herself has been incredibly special for us. Ariana is an amazing tutor. She is so accommodating, supportive and kind. She is always willing to help and is always available. She has improved my standard of writing and is not only able to help me with English but also history as well. She is passionate about helping me achieve the best grades possible and always plans our lessons beforehand which makes the lesson run smoothly. Overall, she is bubbly, hard working and very easy to work with and one of the best tutors i have had.
