Information about Noah
I am Noah, a 23 year old online tutor for children of all ages in mathematics and chemistry! Having committed so much of my time and energy to education and academia, I am interested in passing the skills, tricks and understanding I have learnt to the next generation of students! I am a sociable yet hardworking individual who aims to consistently exceed expectations and help people as much as possible. I have lots of tutoring experience, as well as experience in the education industry.
I am a recent graduate from the University of Oxford, having achieved first class honours in my MChem Chemistry degree from St John`s College. Whilst at Whitgift School I completed 11 GCSEs (10A*, 1A) and obtained 3 A Levels in Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Chemistry each at a grade of A*. I also achieved an A in AS Level Latin. From this education, my strongest skillsets lie in mathematics and quantitative reasoning. I am interested in tutoring in maths, as well as chemistry.
Outside of academics I am a keen sportsman playing hockey and football, as well as being a skiing fanatic! I have played national league hockey for two years, as well as gaining three Full Blues in hockey whilst at university. In my spare time, I love to play football socially, travel and I am really into my music!
Availability: Available in the afternoons, evenings and on the weekends, please get in contact to discuss further! Online tutoring only.
Willing to travel: 50 miles
Experience: I have lots of tutoring experience, both via Tutor Hunt and private tuition companies. I have tutored pupils between the ages of 12 and 18 in both chemistry and mathematics, across various examination boards. I am now offering my services online, in light of recent school closures.
I have experience in the education industry, working for Seneca, an education start-up company developing an online revision platform for GCSE and A Level Students. I was in charge of creating online revision guides and practice assessments for Chemistry and Mathematics GCSE and A Level students across a range of exam boards. Whilst at Seneca, recognition of my hard work resulted in an offer to extend working with them.
On top of this, I have taught and coached hockey to children, between the ages of 8 and 16 years old, at EVO Hockey camps. During the camps I managed groups as big as 30 children at any one time, as well as giving one-on-one tutorials to individual players. I had to plan and teach up to 8 sessions a day, liaise with each childs parents, and care for the children throughout the camps.
Furthermore, in 2016 I taught a class of 30 GCSE students at St. Andrews CE High School over a four month period, following a staff shortage in the school`s Science and Maths Department. I taught revision classes for GCSE mathematics and chemistry twice a week in the lead up to their final examinations. The work involved planning and delivering the revision classes, as well as creating mock assessments for the class.
