I am a fully qualified maths teacher, with 10 years` experience in teaching, including 2 years as a KS3 coordinator. During this time I have taught a range of ages from reception through to A Level, and whilst I have enjoyed teaching all ages my primary focus is secondary school, where I spent 8 years. The majority of my classes have been KS3 and KS4, where I have taught both higher and foundation GCSE classes as well as Further Maths GCSE. I have also been a tutor for KS3 and GCSE students in maths, and have also tutored KS2 and KS3 for SATs/common entrance.

Having worked in different secondary schools across England I am experienced in all the exam boards and I am an exam marker for OCR (and have been for the last 6 years). Consequently, I am up to date with recent curriculum changes through both my teaching and exam marking. The maths content and assessment criteria are the same for all exam boards, it is just the style of questioning that is different. Due to the different schools I have worked in I have experience of working with children where English is a second language, children with special educational needs, and gifted and talented children.

As a mother of two small children I am currently taking some time off from teaching to look after them and plan to return when they start school. In the meantime I am still an exam marker and have continued to tutor students, so I am still up to date with the current curriculum and exam specifications.

I am a dedicated and highly supportive teacher and tutor, and really enjoy helping my students to understand and grasp content, with a hope to not only putting them in the best place possible to sit their exams but also to have a deeper knowledge of the topics, as well as enjoyment of maths.
