Jou-myu

Hi, I`m Jou-Myu, a 1st year medical student at Cambridge University. I also currently hold an honorary research position at King`s College Hospital (London) in the Vascular department.

I previously studied at Westminster School, where I attained the following academic results:

I scored 3A*s in Biology, Maths and Economics and a D1 (A** equivalent) in Chemistry at A-level/Pre-U. I also achieved 11 9s at GCSE.
In my admissions tests I scored 3090 Band 1 in the UCAT and 6.8, 5.5, 4A in the BMAT.
In addition, I received all 4 offers from the medical schools I applied to (Cambridge, Imperial, KCL, Edinburgh).
I scored Gold in the British Biology and UK Chemistry Olympiads in 2023.

I`m keen to help students achieve the top grade in their examinations whether that be by guiding them through past paper questions or by dissecting topics that they find difficult. As always, I`m open to feedback during lessons and happy to focus on specific parts of the course so that you can get the most out it!

Experience: I have previous experience mentoring students for the medical school application process, guiding BMAT revision as well as interview practice and A-Level subject help. Further to this, I have given masterclasses on BMAT revision including essay structure and content for application to top medical schools.

I am also experienced in helping students with GCSE and A-Level examinations, having understood what is required to achieve a high mark through personal experience and helping previous students achieve these. With a focus on high yield knowledge and exam technique, I am able to help a student to maximise their exam mark.

I have also helped younger children with science homework/school projects and preparation for 11+ admissions in improving Maths, English, Non-Verbal and Verbal reasoning skills.
