Information about Stephanie

Hello, I am very passionate about Mathematics and Education. I have studied Maths up to degree level and hold a PGCE in Mathematics 11-18. I have professionally been in education for 4 year and for the last two years I have been tutoring part time. For this year I am delighted to say I am I now a full time tutor and hold and up to date enhanced DBS check. I initially went into teaching to support and inspire students to achieve the best they can, this is a belief I still hold strongly with me today. Tutoring allows me to spend the time to really support and focus on each individual student.

Every student is different and has their own style of learning. I believe it is best to embrace this to develop a students understanding of each topic. I work with the student to focus on the areas they find most challenging. Especially with older students, exam preparation is essential, I spend time supporting the student to develop their exam technique to help them achieve their potential. For primary school students there is more focus on building their foundations and confidence to inspire a passion for Mathematics.

Experience: After I completed my undergraduate degree I started my teacher training. I have experience working in both a Grammar school and Comprehensive schools which has included teaching from year 7 all the way up to sixth form. During my time teaching I took on a small class of year 11`s to give them the best chance of passing their GCSE and spent my lunch breaks supporting individual year 11 students before their exams. Over the past two years I have tutored both primary and GCSE students in sessions which are specific to the students need, key stage and exam board to support them with their confidence and knowledge of Mathematics.
