I have a love of working with and teaching children and always try to make learning fun and engaging. I won`t allow a child to give up at the first hurdle. If one way of learning doesn`t work for them, we will work together to find a different way for them to understand.

Making learning fun, motivating and engaging is key. It also goes down well when the children believe they have taught me something or corrected a mistake I make (on purpose!). I enjoy helping them learn or securing and consolidating their knowledge through games and activities as they don`t see it as learning and are more inclined to want to have a go. I will always try to help them adopt a "have a go" attitude since making mistakes is another way of learning too.

Having taught the maths mastery curriculum, that was introduced in 2014, for 5 years I have an understanding of developing a child`s fluency, reasoning and problem solving skills which develops and extends their overall mathematical skills and deepens their understanding.

Availability: I am available during the weekends primarily however it may be possible to do some weekdays. Please contact me to enquire.

Experience: I have experience teaching in Reception and Year 6.
Furthermore I have taught my own class in Year 2 for 2 years in a state school and 3 years teaching Year 4 in an independent school.
