I grew up in Bangor, North Wales, spending my formative years surrounded by Welsh. In 2008 I decided to see how much Welsh was hard wired into my brain from childhood, and took to it like a fish to water. Welsh is very much the link back to my roots, and the connection with the Welsh speaking side of my family.
I came to London to study music, and now live here, but love speaking and teaching Welsh. It`s important to me to keep the link with my native country, with its unique language and culture, and I enjoy opening that door to others.

Availability: I am available to teach between 8am and 4pm on Tues, Wed and Thurs. Classes are online, or face to face (covid restrictions permitting) near Bethnal Green, East London.

Experience: Having grown up in North Wales, I went through a learning experience as an adult (City Lit, on-line courses, residential courses, independent study, and family!), and started teaching at City Lit, Central London, and in the public sector in 2010. My Welsh teaching is on-going, and the last ten years have included evening classes at City Lit, groups of adults at home, and teaching in the public sector.
My teaching has been based on the WJEC courses Mynediad, Sylfaen, and Canolradd, and I have also done more advanced tailor made classes. I have taught North and South Wales Welsh.
I speak Welsh fluently, and the hope is that my learning experience, and understanding of how the language works, will help you, as learners, to gain insight into the unique language and culture of Wales.
I hold a basic DBS Certificate.
