Born in Liverpool. Educated at Trinity College Cambridge (BA Hons, 1969, MA 1979) and the University of Manchester (Dip TEO 1985).
UK Qualified Teacher Status for students 5-18 years old.
I have also followed an education courses at The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Kingston, Jamaica and courses in SEND atThe Open University in this country.

Availability: All day every day Monday to Saturday except Wednesday and Thursday mornings and lunchtime.

Experience: I have been a teacher (including as Head of Department, Coordinator, Head of Sixth Form at different times) since 1969. Secondary High Schools in Jamaica 1969-1978, Lycée in Algeria 1979-82, Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus, Thailand, 1982-84, Teaching practice in Manchester and Lisbon 1984-5, Secondary Schools in Coventry 1985-2004 and Supply Teaching 2004-2015 at all levels from Reception SEND to Sixth Form. I have been a tutor at various times since 1999 but mostly since 2017 and have tutored for some 2000 hours.
My specialist subject is English but I have also taught and tutored Maths and Science.
I have been a marker in public exams sometimes at primary level and sometimes at secondary level, and have experience in the preparation public exams.
My teaching style is relaxed and supportive to help students develop the confidence to achieve their full potential.
