Information about Amy

My name is Amy and I have been an Art and Photography teacher for over 10 years. My previous roles include running independent school art departments. I have worked in some outstanding schools across the country and have been extremely privileged to prepare so many young adults for further education. I also run my own photography business and have a art studio from home, I teach 4 days a week at a outstanding art department.

I have been working tirelessly to build resources that can be accessed remotely to support students during these challenging times. I have also designed a marking method online which has been a success with my own students. I am keen to motivate students and offer my support to students and I hope to hear from you soon. Below is more about me!

I have taught from ks3 to ks5 and currently teach Fine art and Photography. My background is in painting and drawing but I am a keen photographer . I will tutor from home as my supplies are here but I am flexible to teach online. I can offer demonstrations and exemplar top grade materials to support your son/daughter
My PGCE in Art and Design is complemented by a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Drawing and Painting with the History of Art, giving me the ability to carry out practical demonstrations as well supported by explanations of the history of techniques being used.

I have experience in a wide range of Art and Design specialism`s, including; Fine Art, Ceramics, Printing, Photography, Life Drawing and History of Art. I have a passion for Art coupled with good subject knowledge. I believe that Art and Design can unlock the creative freedom of the class and thereby the individual; a quality essential both to personal development and to our society as a whole, yet so often undervalued. I would like the opportunity to encourage creativity and help create an environment where students are able to experiment and explore ideas without fear of failure. Art and Design is so much more than self-expression, and I welcome the opportunity to share my enthusiasm for the rich art history and culture our world has to offer.

Teaching GCSE and A level has also been a main role at previous positions; I have achieved successful results; I saw 32 Art GCSE`s students achieve 100% A*-C, 65% being A.A`s. My A level saw 25 students achieve 100% A*-C, 81% achieving A.A. 50% of these students went on to study Art at Degree level, and have all been awarded places at their first choice universities. It is the continued success of these students beyond school that I am most proud of, as it echoes my personal philosophy that learning should extend beyond the high-quality learning environment provided in teams and classrooms that I lead.

In addition to my continued artistic development, my other interests include: walking, music, film, theatre and spending time with my family. My love of music and singing has always played an important role in my life and from the age of nine I was involved in the local church choir and have thoroughly enjoyed taking an active part in a faith community.

I consider myself to be a strong candidate for tutoring , bringing with me sound subject knowledge, a life-long love of Art, a proven leadership track record and a passion for teaching and learning. I am an enthusiastic, creative and supportive individual.

I have some space to prepare students for art scholarship, or support with gcse or A level at current.
