¡Hola!

I have always had a passion for Spanish culture and language, with a developing ear for Latin American nuances. I have found that the way in which the language is adapted across the different regions of Spain and LATAM in general gives learning Spanish a joy and amusement that is vital to daily learning and progress.

Experience: I began learning Spanish in secondary school, achieving an A* at both GCSE and A Level.

I had an amazing opportunity to study International Business and Spanish at Newcastle University, which allowed me to live in Valencia for one year. I consider this year to be the highlight of my time at university, being able to develop my Spanish-speaking identity and learn about LATAM culture from a range of friends native to countries such as Columbia, Argentina and Mexico. Living in Valencia, and with my confidence building month by month, I started to work in an academy teaching English to Spanish kids and adults.

After I returned to Newcastle for my final year, I graduated with a 2-1 in the summer of 2024. I owe a lot of my success to the amazing modules and even more amazing lecturers that gave me the tools to be a confident and competent Spanish speaker.

Nowadays, I am a supply teacher at a secondary school in Stockton-On-Tees. This is a venture that has again pushed me outside my comfort zone, but that is where I have always progressed the most!
