I am a professor at the University of Leicester and I have recently moved into partial retirement. My career has focused on teaching, research and research project direction. I`m looking for new challenges at this stage of my career and find personal tuition to be a fulfilling new venture.

I relate well to young people and find it easy to build up rapport in one-to-one settings and to identify the best way of encouraging each student to reach their potential . I have a good grounding in the principles of teaching and learning, having gained this `on the job`. Having been an astronomer for my whole career, I have an excellent knowledge of both Physics and Maths.

I have been a Tutor Hunt tutor for more than 6 years

Availability: Available most weekdays by appointment and on Saturdays if required.

Experience: I have very substantial teaching experience within the University sector, teaching students with all levels of ability and helping them to overcome their learning challenges successfully. But more importantly I have wide experience providing tuition to A-level and GCSE students in Physics and Maths over the last 6 years. I have provided tuition to more than 50 students, all of whom have been complimentary of my skills and have gone on to make big improvements in their grades.
