Hello, I am a fully qualified Primary Teacher who works in Year 2. I believe that with patience and support, every child can advance their learning and build their own confidence. As a primary teacher I teach all subjects but I generally suggest starting with a focus on reading, writing and maths. I think tutors can be a fabulous way to give your child some help, a little extra time to practice their skills or a confidence boost when they need it.

Alternatively, I can help you to assess where your child`s work is meeting goals and then work out what to focus on next with your child. This can be really useful if you are wanting to support them but you may be missing that teacher`s input to suggest next steps.

Availability: I am available some evenings and all of Saturday at the moment. I am still teaching my current class online and my school is open for Key Worker children so I may be able to accommodate some other times but this would need to be discussed in advance. Please let me know if you have a specific time that you need and I will do my best to make it happen.

Experience: I am a fully qualified Primary Teacher with a maths specialism, my particular focus is around building confidence and reducing anxiety. I am qualified to teach all primary year groups and I am currently working in Year 2 for the third time. I am happy to help with all areas of learning, from initial sounds and letter formation to extra SATS prep.

As many schools are sending home activities, I am more than happy to help with whatever you child`s school has asked them to do. Alternatively we can work on core skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in maths and good writing practice such as correct use of capital letters and full stops, spelling Common Exception Words and use of conjunctions.

Reading presents a little more of a challenge in that it can be difficult for me to see the book your child is reading from when working online but I can certainly help with the kind of questioning which would be on a SATS paper and will prepare children for comprehension in the Junior School.
