Desmond

Hello, my name is Desmond and I am a 1st class UCL MSci Chemistry graduate from University College London (UCL). For my A levels, I achieved an A* in Psychology and A`s in Biology, Chemistry and the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).

During the course of my Chemistry degree, I have developed my analytical skills to an elite level which has helped my find success in my assignments and exams. I aim to challenge students to gain such skills as I believe that this would greatly aid their understanding of chemistry and consequently would result in success in assignments and exams.

As someone who initially struggled with my studies during my GCSEs, I am passionate to help students realise their full potential through the teaching of simple methods to understand complex principles and through boosting their confidence by promoting a positive, encouraging attitude towards their school work and exams.

Experience: During my second year of university, I held a 6 week air pollution project with a school and pupil referral unit (PRU). During this project, students learnt what pollution is and how to determine pollution levels in their local area.

I have also held an A level Chemistry taster day at another school where students were given insight into Infrared Spectroscopy (IR)
