Hi, my name is Charlie and I graduated in 2019 from the University of Bristol with a BSc in Chemistry, Second Class Honours.

I am a friendly and enthusiastic person who takes pleasure in seeing a student gain in knowledge and confidence in their work.
My specialist subject is Chemistry, but I can also confidently teach Biology up to GCSE level. I obtained A* grades at GCSE and A grades at A level in Chemistry, Biology and Maths.
I believe that children are able to cover required course content at school but may not have the opportunity in large classes to apply what they have learned or ask enough questions to enhance their understanding.

Therefore, whether your child feels they have not gained enough base knowledge from school lessons, needs a refresher in going over older material or particular topics or just a confidence boost in their ability to answer exam questions, I am able and happy to help.
I have very recent experience with revision and exams at university and at school, and am well equipped to help with revision skills and exam technique as well as Chemistry and Biology course knowledge.

With the recent COVID-19 outbreak causing schools to close, I am happy to offer online tutoring which can be tailored to best suit your child`s method of learning. Examples of this are using a webcam/microphone through which I can explain and walk through concepts using a whiteboard, or working through model answers for exam style questions. All that is required from you in terms of equipment is a microphone, and either Skype or Discord installed on the PC, the latter being useful as it allows screen sharing for easy access to online notes and exam questions.

I spent a year working in the Science Department at Claremont Fan Court senior school which gave me more insight into different styles of teaching as well as letting me observe students’ reactions to different methods of learning.

I do offer the first lesson free of charge, during which I`ll gauge the child’s level of understanding and areas for improvement or focus, as well as establish a plan moving forward.
