Information about Daniel
I am currently a Mathematics teacher at a Bristol secondary school and college. I have been working at this school for 3 years and in this time I have taught hundreds of students from a variety of backgrounds. I have taught multiple GCSE and A-level classes in mathematics and am this year teaching GCSE Further Mathematics to a group of our students who would like to take mathematics A level.
In my GCSE classes, the average SPI I have achieved with my classes (a measure of how many grades a student beat their target grade by) is 0.88 with some students achieving as high as 3 grades above their target.
During this time I have completed my Masters in Education with the University of Bristol. I studied a variety of units for this and completed and submitted my dissertation in September of this year.

Experience: I have extensive experience in teaching and tutoring, beginning when I was an A-level student myself and continuing throughout my time at university and during my career.
When I was an A-level student I was part of a group of Year 12`s who were paid to tutor Key Stage 3 and 4 students in mathematics. I thoroughly enjoyed this and in Year 13 I was asked to take a further role in this scheme, organising the sessions and contacting parents to assess children`s needs.
While I was at university I took part in a variety of tutoring schemes, both voluntarily and on a paid basis. I was a member of a project that went into 2 local schools weekly to tutor children who faced extra barriers to learning and was part of this for two years. I also volunteered in Calais, teaching mathematics to refugee children who were living and sleeping rough at the time. Both these experiences were valuable to me and have helped me develop a variety of teaching styles that can cater to a huge range of students.
I continued to complete paid tutoring during this time, gaining students from a variety of sources, including Tutorhunt and other sites, as well as word of mouth and social media.
I have continued some tutoring during my career over the past few years and have found that my tutoring experience and teaching experience are complementary to one another.
If you have any questions I would be more than happy to answer them.
