I have an undergraduate degree in Chemical Physics and masters in both Medical Physics and Physics: Nuclear Technology. I am presently a supply teacher within the North East. I am an experienced and enthusiastic tutor in Physics, Chemistry and Maths for GCSE and A-Level. To date, all of my students have received A`s, for which I am very proud.

Availability: I tutor in person in (and around) the following areas:

- Peterlee
- Durham
- Gateshead

Times available during term time are: 4:30pm onwards during the week and 9am - 5pm on Saturday.

Times available during Easter break (1st April - 15th April) are: 9am - 7pm, Monday - Saturday.

Experience: I am a big believer in student-led learning, and feel it is important the student instruct the tutor as to what they`re needing to learn. I typically would encourage a level of homework between tutoring sessions, usually taking the form of problems similar to past papers. However, this is something that will be discussed with the student as they have to balance this with their own demands from school / college.

I think it is vital to start any tutoring experience with a free 15 minute introduction (in person or online). This allows both student and parent / guardian to ensure you are happy with myself as a tutor. Furthermore, during this time it will be important to discuss what the student is hoping to gain from tutoring and to target which specific areas are needing re-enforced to ensure full understanding of the curriculum. This leads to a more strategic tutoring, avoiding excessive amounts of time being spent on topics the student is comfortable with, maximising efficiency and value.
