Information about Santino
Having just finished A-levels and being the founder of SideNotes (a note selling business), I know what it takes to get the grades you need, whilst doing as little work as possible. After all, it really is about working smart and not hard.
From personalised revision timetables and techniques, to step-by-step help of any topic, I will help you understand any topics that you are unsure off in a memorable way, and help you tackle that exam technique which could be standing the way of gaining the top grades.
Having achieving top grades myself and successfully tutoring over 30 students last year, allowing them all to gain top grades in their science and drama GCSE/A-Levels, I use this experience to teach and tutor students in a way that is specifically to them as everybody learns differently.
From recently just finished my own exams, I have a distinct understanding of not only the syllabus and exam technique from a students point of view (and a teachers), but also the pressures and struggles faced when trying to revise for, what could potentially be, the most important exams of your life.
Availability: Best availability is in the afternoons of any weekday or anytime Saturday and Sunday.
Willing to travel: 12 miles
Experience: Being a personal tutor, I have developed my communication skills (both written and in speech) to allow myself to communicate in a clear and concise manner, whilst also allow myself to explain the trickiest of topics in an easily understood way. Organisation and patience are key when tutoring to allow the student to understand topics at their own pace, whilst also going back to previous topics to cement the knowledge into their long term memory. Skills I learnt from other placements have defiantly impacted the way I now organise my notes to make them more concise and easier to understand.
At my local primary school, I would teach science to year 5 and 6 and conduct music lessons for the whole school every Wednesday afternoon. From making worksheets and planning practicals for the student to do, to marking their homework, I was able to play a key role in igniting their fascination to science. It was rewarding to witness their whole school nativity play (of which I helped teach the students the music) where the students who were perhaps more shy than others, had the opportunity and confidence to deliver their lines clearly and even sing a solo. It was also rewarding to witness one student become so fascinated by science that he began to overtake my knowledge and sat his GCSE in science and maths at the age of 13.
