I strongly believe that learning should be stimulating and fun. Every child’s first impression of ‘learning’ is key and it will mould their future attitude towards their education. I feel it is so important that children are supported at the start of their educational journey so they build a positive association and passion for their own learning.
I, therefore, have a keen desire to focus on early years’ learning and educational encouragement for children that may present with the following:
• They are about to start school
• They have started school but display a lack of interest in learning
• They are struggling to retain their learning throughout the school holidays

Experience: I have had a long and varied career working with children and their families as a practitioner, manager and director in the statutory and voluntary sector. I have a background in social work and education, having taught on the post-qualifying social work course at Goldsmith, as well as Birmingham’s Public Service MA.

I was the head of Early Years Education for a local authority in the Midlands, before being contracted by the government as the National Director for ‘Together for Disabled Children’.

I also have 10+ years of experience working in day nurseries and family centres, both as a practitioner and as a manager, developing children’s learning, social skills and wellbeing.
