Information about Martin
Hola, I`m Martin!
I am a qualified secondary languages teacher, holding a PGCE in Modern Languages and a BA in Hispanic Studies and History from the University of Nottingham. I have a strong passion for both the Spanish language and Hispanic culture, and have spent much of my adult life living in Latin America. I am offering online tutoring for GCSE and A-Level Spanish students, and aim to cover key exam components whilst developing genuine communication skills.
Availability: Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, anytime after midday on Sundays
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I hold a PGCE in Modern Languages, and a BA in Hispanic Studies and History, but the majority of my knowledge stems from my time spent in Latin America. At age 18 I spent a year volunteering in the Dominican Republic with very little prior knowledge of Spanish, but being completely surrounded by the language enabled me to learn quickly and confidently. I quickly developed a passion for the Spanish language and Hispanic culture, and decided to study both at degree level. Since then, I have studied the Spanish language and Cuban history at the University of Havana, and travelled extensively through Central and South America. I have also taught all components of the GCSE and A-Level Spanish courses to students within schools.
