MATHS

Summary:

1. Identify weak topics.
2. Explain concept to child, where child can explain back to me.
3. Past paper questions during session to supplement weak topic.
4. Homework set to be independent completed and marked.
5. Quick review of homework during the next session.

My first lesson will be used to gauge the student`s ability in the subject. I ask that before the first lesson I am provided with what specification which the student is studying e.g. AQA/Edexcel/OCR, and all current study material and revision/coursebooks is brought to the lesson. We will then look at the specification and use it as a checklist on all the topics which are difficult/haven`t been taught. No matter where the student is in regards to the content, we can cover the course in detail from the beginning if required.

I like to incorporate past paper questions in the lessons, where I set past paper questions and textbook/online exercises via email. After the lesson has been completed, I will send the relevant homework and further reading if required. I ask that the parents proactively ensure their child has completed the homework (not the night before!), where next lesson I can double check that the student has securely understood the topic in order to move onto the next topic.

For upcoming GCSE Maths exams, I will create a tailored study plan to ensure that the student covers everything on the specification and will set full papers as homework.

I want my students to do well, and I enjoy tutoring where I am currently tutoring my own younger brother in GCSE Maths where he has secured a 9 in his mocks. I also currently tutor my 6 year old cousin with Maths and critical thinking skills.

I am highly trained in tutoring medical interviews. During my interviews I spent over 200+ hours preparing for the interviews with doctors, medical students, family and friends. I have a wealth of knowledge to make the pupil confident to provide genuine and heartfelt responses to the interview questions. I teach the STARR approach, and will provide all my interview notes to the student.

Why do you want to study medicine? Chances are you have said "I want to help people", and sure that`s a great reason to want to study medicine. However, interviewers are wanting to see individuality and curiosity to the life of a medical doctor! I will be able to help the student formulate unique answers to fully prep them for upcoming interviews.

During my admission year I received a UCAT score in the 9th decile (top 10%), and with this score I was successfully able to gain all 4 interviews at top UK universities.

I am a highly skilled tutor and will teach you valuable theory and time-saving techniques for the UCAT exam. I will create a dedicated study plan which will cater to the amount of time left until the exam date. We will cover each individual section in thorough detail in order for you to gain vital the marks. Remember, failing to prepare is preparing to fail! Don`t jeopardize your place at medical school by lacking a competitive UCAT score!
