Willing to travel: 2 miles
Experience: I have around 180 hours worth of teaching and tutoring experience.
I was an English teacher in Japan, with the charitable organisation: Oxford Summer Camps Abroad, which provides affordable English classes to Japanese students. I taught around 120+ hours of language classes to a mix of ages. I am very familiar with lesson planning, adapting to student needs and engaging a range of pupils from the ages of 11 to 18.
I volunteered at the University of Oxford with the Winton Volunteers an educational charity hoping to combat the significant educational inequality in the city. As a creative writing tutor, I helped primary school children in Cowley with English language skills for 24 hours in total. I have experience working with children from disadvantaged backgrounds and believe in building the confidence of every student I teach.
I have taught students from Sevenoaks School Biology and Chemistry for iGCSE syllabuses on an adhoc basis. My most recent student achieved his desired grades and went on to his first choice University, having had tutoring with myself in the build up to exams. In total I delivered 30 hours of Biology and Chemistry tutoring.
I have also delivered Oxbridge interview mentoring to prospective students on an adhoc basis at my former school Tunbridge Wells Girls Grammar and other pupils on request. I am able to prepare students applying for Biology and Human Sciences with typical scenarios with tutors and what to prepare for.
I enjoy helping students fulfil their potential, build confidence and achieve their goals. I have an empathetic approach and appreciate no two students are the same. I benefited greatly from tutoring as a young adult and feel honoured to be able to help other students in the same way.
