Information about Mark
I have been teaching for 27 years. My permanent, full time teaching roles have included many years in primary schools, mainly Year 3 to Year 6, and nine years in secondary school, where I taught as a learning support teacher and as an English teacher. I am currently a supply teacher – teaching mainly in primary schools.
I have a wide experience of working with children of all ages and abilities; including children with special educational needs and children who have English as an additional language.
I love teaching and sharing the learning experience of the children I am working with. I appreciate that learning is an experience that is unique to each individual and to each session. I am adaptable and flexible and use a wide range of techniques and approaches to stimulate and encourage good progress.
I am quite adventurous and love cycling; taking long country walks; going on random drives; and organising and taking part in trips and residentials with my church youth group.

I have been home educating my daughter for nearly a year now, and although she`s always been self motivated, and I`d help and encourage where needed, I especially thought she needed a little more encouragement as during covid lockdown I noticed she was losing her love for learning, I think having her siblings around distracting her. Anyway I found Mark on tutorhunt and recognised him from many years ago when he once taught my daughter at primary. I felt comfortable contacting Mark to see if he was able to tutor my daughter again as I already knew what a professional, kind, caring and wonderful teacher he was, as my daughter was always incredibly happy after having Mark teach her at school, and that still stands today, it was hands down the best decision I made in contacting Mark as a tutor, he is still as professional, kind, helpful, and encouraging as he was in her primary years, he puts her at ease, and makes her lessons fun as often makes her laugh, Mark always plans out his lessons well, explains thoroughly and checks she understands, but always reassures her not to worry if not and explains things at her understanding. Mark sets small homework tasks for her to do and always makes me aware of what has been set and keeps great communication with me. Overall Mark Is a wonderful tutor, I have been totally impressed with the excellent service and because it has brightened my daughters confidence and she`s found her love for learning again and thoroughly looks forward to Marks lessons each week.
