Hello - my name is Anna and I am a friendly, experienced and qualified teacher. I am a native German speaker, having lived in Britain for the past 20 years. I have worked at Grammar schools and Comprehensives as a German teacher and Head of German, and I have been tutoring students in German at all levels for the past 15 years.

I am married with three children, and my hobbies are walking, gardening, travelling, cooking and German music and literature.

Availability: Monday to Saturday

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: I have over 15 years experience as an employed teacher in colleges and secondary schools, and I have experience teaching different abilities and different ages, from Beginners classes to A-level and Professional qualifications. I have taught classes for Business, Travel and Conversation in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

I always discuss the needs of each new student carefully and aim to build up their confidence. I prepare many quality teaching materials myself, and practise proven exam techniques which invariable help to improve grades rapidly.

At A -level I also give guidance and advise with the Individual Research Project, prepare for the Oral exam the vocabulary and structures needed to master the Speaking Cards and teach film and literature studies, e.g. "Good bye, Lenin!", "Der Vorleser", "Andorra", "Der Besuch der alten Dame", "Das Leben der Anderen" (and others), Essay writing, Vocabulary, Speaking Card Practice, Reading, Writing, listening, Grammar and Translation.

I have been tutoring for many exam boards, including AQA, WJEC, Edexcel, Edexcel International A-level and Cambridge Pre-U.

Language tuition has been my passion for a long time and allows me to be supportive and creative, motivating pupils and believing in their abilities. One-to-one tuition (online or in person) is very productive, because it adapts to the individual learner`s needs easily. The feedback from my students has been consistently positive, with all of them aiming high and achieving their goals and many of them securing places at Cambridge, Imperial College, York, Cardiff. Kings College London and Exeter.
