With over 6 years of teaching experience and a Masters degree in Spacecraft Engineering from Southampton University, I am currently working with a local education trust which prepares students from disadvantaged backgrounds for reintroduction to mainstream schooling. My engineering background influences my teaching style, and I often use real world examples to make difficult concepts feel relatable.
My teaching approach involves first ensuring that fundamental concepts are very well understood, before completing a number of exam style practice questions. After every session, I set homework as this is proven to greatly increase the speed of progress. Leading up to exams we will complete as many past papers as possible so that my students feel calm and confident on the day. My background in applying maths and science principles to a variety of advanced engineering fields including rocket propulsion, aerodynamics, and artificial intelligence, allows me to relate abstract and difficult concepts to subjects the student finds interesting.
Availability: My Working days are:
Mondays 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
Tuesdays 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
Thursday 7:45 am to 3:00 pm
I may also have some availability on Fridays.

Experience: I began teaching at the Connie Rothman Learning Trust while studying for my A Levels, with students between 5 to 17 years of age. Recently, I returned on a more permanent basis and have benefitted greatly from working with other skilled and experienced teachers. I have learnt how patience and sincere commendation gives children the confidence to achieve their full potential. The trust also moved all pupils online during the first lockdown, so I have also gained online teaching experience. Over the past 6 years I have also taught many students privately. After only several months, the majority saw their expected grades increase, and went on to meet or exceed their academic goals during exams.
