I am a qualified teacher with a great deal of experience in private tuition as well as in classroom teaching. I graduated from Imperial College in Mathematics and stayed on to carry out research in Applied Mathematics to Diploma Level. I also have a Postgraduate Certificate in Mathematical Education (PGCE). I have always had a keen interest and enthusiasm for the subject for its own sake .

I have had a very varied career and have worked as a technical computer programmer as well as in Maths school teaching and private tuition both in this country and abroad. Hence I am a fully qualified and experienced secondary school Mathematics teacher (Years 7 to 11) and private tutor in the subject (Years 5 to 11). Hence I tutor upper primary and secondary students up to GCSE as well as adult learners.

I thoroughly enjoy teaching Maths individually and helping students struggling to understand the subject. I can assist them with their regular school work as well as with exam revision. I have often been told that I have amazing reserves of patience and the ability to instil my students with confidence and enjoyment in the subject.

I tutor part-time and am very keen on Group Exercise classes of Aerobics, Studio Cycling, Zumba, Yoga etc. I also like country walking and am interested in wildlife and gardening.

Availability: Since the pandemic, I am equally happy to offer face to face lessons and online tuition (currently using Skype) as needed. Both methods work extremely well, provided the student has an adequate Internet connection. Students and their parents have been really happy with my online teaching and found it very convenient.

I am quite flexible and have availability during the day, after school and at weekends.

Experience: I have taught Mathematics in schools and F.E. colleges in the UK and in the United Arab Emirates up to GCSE and A Level.
I also tutored students both in this country and in Dubai with great success. In fact I was selected by my Dubai school to teach the children of the Royal Family. This consistently results in excellent attainments for my students.
My own four children studied Maths to A level and I tutored them throughout their education. They are now grown up.
In 2013 I returned from the Middle East to my home in England. Since then I have been working as a private tutor of Mathematics.
I do have a great deal of experience both with the old and the new 9-1 GCSE (ever since its introduction) as well as with the IGCSE, Common Entrance, 11+ and adult numeracy exams etc.
