I am a qualified teacher with a great deal of experience in private tuition as well as in classroom teaching. I graduated from Imperial College in Mathematics and stayed on to carry out research in Applied Mathematics to Diploma Level. I also have a Postgraduate Certificate in Mathematical Education (PGCE). I have always had a keen interest and enthusiasm for the subject for its own sake.

I have had a very varied career and have worked as a technical computer programmer as well as in Maths school teaching and private tuition both in this country and abroad. Hence I am a fully qualified and experienced secondary school Mathematics teacher (Years 7 to 11). I actually offer private tuition in the subject from Year 5 to 11, covering upper primary as well as secondary up to GCSE level. In addition I teach adult learners.

I thoroughly enjoy teaching Maths individually and helping students struggling to understand the subject. I can assist them with their regular school work as well as with exam revision. I have often been told that I have amazing reserves of patience and the ability to instil my students with confidence and enjoyment in the subject.

I tutor part-time and enjoy various group exercise classes. I also like country walking and am interested in wildlife, gardening, piano and improving my spoken French and Italian.

Availability: I am equally happy to offer face to face lessons and online tuition (currently using Skype) as needed. Both methods work extremely well, provided the student has an adequate Internet connection.

I am quite flexible and have availability during the day, after school and at weekends.

Experience: I have taught Mathematics in schools and F.E. colleges in the UK and in the United Arab Emirates up to GCSE and A Level.
I also tutored students both in this country and in Dubai with great success. In fact I was selected by my Dubai school to teach the children of the Royal Family. This consistently results in excellent attainments for my students.
My own four children studied Maths to A level and I tutored them throughout their education. They are now grown up.
In 2013 I returned from the Middle East to my home in England. Since then I have been working as a private tutor of Mathematics.
I do have a great deal of experience both with the old and the new 9-1 GCSE (ever since its introduction) as well as with the IGCSE, Common Entrance, Sats, 11+ and adult numeracy exams etc.
