Sophie

My name is Sophie and I am 23 years old.

I`m outgoing and friendly and happy to work with students of all ages.

I currently work as a KS3 English Intervention SAHL in a secondary school. Previous to this, I worked as an ESL (English as a second language) teacher in China for two years, teaching primary level English, Music, PE and Art.

I offer KS3 tutoring as well as specific tutoring to aid grammar, spelling, extended writing or reading.


I have a 2:1 degree in English Language from Northumbria University.

I have 3 A Levels in English Language, Biology and Art.

Availability: Monday - 4.30 onwards
Tuesday - 4.30 onwards
Thursday - 4.30 onwards

Experience: I have been working as a KS3 intervention SAHL in a secondary school for a year, helping pupils to catch up with work and offering specific skill sessions with them. I offer individual pupil intervention, always planning our sessions to directly target a problem area.

I also worked in China as a EFL teacher for two years. This offered me a totally different perception of the English language and gave me experience in explaining and demonstrating complicated rules and patterns in a more understandable way.
