Are you looking for extra French practice to boost speaking/ reading/ writing and listening skills for your child or yourself?

I am a DBS checked secondary languages teacher based 2 minutes walk from Ilford Road Metro. My approach builds confidence and understanding of the 4 key language skills through grammar practice, topic vocabulary and mark scheme understanding. My aim is to encourage the best possible outcomes for you/ your child`s language learning and will boost exam performance.

Prior to teaching I was a curator and gallery director in the visual arts for 15 years working with over 250 artists, organising exhibitions and writing catalogues; so I can also help students write about the rationale behind their art projects for GCSE, A level. In doing so, I can draw on my degree which was joint honours French & Art History.

Availability: If you are an A level or college student I am available Tuesday, Weds, Thurs during the day, when I can meet you somewhere quiet and convenient for study or alternatively 4:15-5:15 and 5:15-6:15 based from my home office in Jesmond.

Experience: I have an MA (Hons) from Glasgow University in French & Art History. Having secured my PGCE qualification in Modern Foreign Languages From Durham University I have worked full-time within secondary schools in the North East teaching GCSE and A level. I also taught for a year as subject lead and the sole teacher of languages in a Middle School. My A level students have all reached a B and above. Having lived and worked in France, Germany and Holland I have a passion for languages and other cultures- an enthusiasm which I seek to encourage in my students.
