Information about Simon
Ten years experience teaching English at secondary school level. I achieved a first class degree and a masters with distinction. I have successfully taken many students through GCSE courses. Currently I am head of KS3 for English. I am also a father of 3 boys between 8 and 20 so definitely am kept very busy!
Availability: I am available Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5 O`clock and also happy to do sessions during the weekend if we can organise a suitable time.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I have been teaching English Language and Literature from KS3 to GCSE and A-Level for 10 years with a good success rate. I am currently second in department at a secondary school in Lincoln where I also act as Head of KS3 for English.

Simon quickly put our son at ease and is improving his confidence. He has been patient with our son - taking time to understand how he learns and exactly where he needs help. He has been flexible and found a good balance between structured and free-flow writing, whilst encouraging our son to write more effectively. Simon has always been punctual and has discussed his plans with us each week.

Within the first lesson Simon had accessed my daughter’s weak spots in English and started to work on them. He was very conscious in telling her that she should tell him if she didn’t understand something and in no way was that a weakness. It was giving her confidence to cross question topics to gain a fuller understanding. My daughter is currently sitting her GCSE Mocks and really enjoying her lessons. All credit to a teacher who knows how to engage with his students to take them to there full potential. Would fully recommend.

My daughter has, so far, had three lessons with Simon so it`s quite early for feedback, however what I can say is that Simon is very punctual, well prepared and friendly - he seemed to put my daughter at easy almost immediately and she is already more confident in her lessons.
