Information about Enrico
I am a Neurotechnology PhD student and Teaching Assistant at Imperial College London, studying the neurodynamics of audiovisual speech comprehension in noisy environments. My background is in engineering with a focus on aerospace. I also have a passion for languages - I speak Italian and English natively, French fluently and Spanish at a conversational level.
I travelled widely as a child: I was born in Turin, Italy, but lived in the USA, Brazil, Italy and Brussels, Belgium - a very international city itself - before moving to Bristol for my Bachelor`s degree. Having experienced numerous different teaching styles, I understand the importance of a tailored approach.
I spend most of my free time challenging myself with a wide range of sporting activities, and challenging my friends with a wide range of philosophical questions.
Availability: Flexible throughout the week and week-end.
Happy to travel in London or host the tutorial at the Imperial College South Kensington campus or at home (High Street Kensington).
First hour free. Satisfaction guaranteed thereafter, or it`s free!
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: - Teaching Assistant at Imperial College London: Statistics for 3rd year Engineering, Brain-Machine Interfaces for MSc students, Electronics and Coding laboratories for first year students.
- One full semester of A-Level Physics tutoring.
- Private tutoring for languages (Italian and French) at school and at university.
- Young child tutoring.
- Expert personal statement and dissertation reviewer.
When teaching technical subjects, I strive to explain concepts in as many different ways as possible both to increase understanding and to provide a very important tool: the ability to think of problems from multiple points of view. For example, in mathematics and statistics, there are often one or two purely mathematical approaches to a problem as well a geometric representation, and very often a parallel to physics and the real world. I have found that this approach is very useful to my students. When teaching languages, I like pointing out the similarities and differences between languages, as a way to aid memorisation.
