Information about Richard
Hi, my name is Richard. I build positive attitudes by using a creative, engaging, modern and bespoke teaching style. In July 2016, I took a leap of faith and stopped being a successful and lively junior school teacher to start a fresh exciting new role as a tutor. I`m pretty much booked up now but keep my availability section current, as and when things change.
Availability: During this Covid spell Im teaching on Skype or Zoom during school hours.
My free slots are currently:
Monday 12:30-1:30 and 1:30 till 2:30
Tuesday 1:30-2:30
Wednesday 12:30-1:30 and 1:30-2:30
Thursday 1:00 - 2:00 and 2:00 till 3:00
Willing to travel: 8 miles
Experience: For the 10 years (2006-16) I taught across the junior year groups in a Macclesfield primary school. I really enjoy teaching and stick to the assess-plan-teach-review cycle because it works.
As a full-time teacher I gained invaluable experience of all abilities and special education needs. I adapt my 1:1 teaching to find styles of learning that work for each person.
Maths is my first love and I teach it to GCSE level. Literacy is a close second and I`ve taught it to KS3 and beyond. I have recently completed research into dyscalculia whilst successfully tutoring two pupils. I enjoy finding ways to help all pupils. I have also starting helping a young man, with his maths, who is recovering from a stroke. This Summer I did prep work for 11+ entrance exams with Trafford Consortium. Thanks for checking out my profile.
